Guidelines for Submissions to CALS Weekly Bulletin

The CALS Weekly Bulletin offers information that should be read by all college faculty and staff. It will be the only avenue for communicating policy and procedure changes to the entire college. Submission guidelines are at the end of each issue.

Accordingly, only information that is of broad interest to many faculty and staff should be entered. The bulletin should not be used as a substitute for the CALS Calendar, but there are times when certain events might appear in both the calendar and the bulletin. (You will have to make two separate submissions in those cases.)

All submissions are reviewed for relevancy and may be returned for revision. In cases where the submitted information is too narrowly focused, suggestions will be made to either use the calendar or send email to a more localized group.

The deadline for submission is noon on the Thursday the bulletin is sent our.

Examples of recommended entries to the CALS Weekly Bulletin are:
..College-wide or university-wide policies that directly affect faculty and staff
..Announcements of college-wide faculty/staff meetings
..Announcements of new newsletters or other web-based material of broad interest
..Receptions for retirees or college holiday events
..Special seminars that have wide interest to many disciplines
..Announcements of high interest new web pages or print publications
..Announcements of student-oriented college activities (e.g., plant sales)
..Announcements of new faculty and staff

Examples of inappropriate entries include:
.. Announcement of blood drives or seminars of interest to a single building or department
.. Announcements of a personal nature (deceased relatives, marriages)
.. Announcements of facilities management emergencies

Please continue to submit any calendar items directly to the Calendar.
